Macroeconomic Performance – Group Project

[To-Do] Initial Steps:

• You will be grouped and assigned topics.
• Establish communication within your group.
• Choose an approved country for analysis and ensure everyone in the group is acquainted.
  • You cannot select the United States, Rwanda, or Guatemala.
  • As the initial step, you’ll need to provide names of two countries. For instance, if you’re keen on studying the Russian economy, list it first. Also, consider a backup option in case someone else chooses Russia. Your next best option could be Germany.
    • So you will put down, Russia and Germany.

Instructions to Access the List of Country Names under DataBank World Development Indicators (World Bank)

1. Access the World Bank DataBank:
   • Open your preferred web browser.
   • Visit the World Bank DataBank website by typing in the following URL: https://databank.worldbank.org/Links to an external site.
2. Navigate to World Development Indicators:
   • On the main page, look for “World Development Indicators” and click on it.
     
3. Selecting Countries:
   • Once inside the World Development Indicators database, you will find a “Countries” section.
   • Click on the dropdown menu or the “Select All” button to view the entire list of countries.
   • Scroll through the list to view all the countries, or use the search bar to find a specific country.
     
4. Extracting the List (Optional):
   • If you wish to extract this list for external use:
     • Continue to the “Series” section, and select any arbitrary data series. For example, you can select “Access to clean fuels and technologies for cooking (% of population)”
     • Continue to the “Time” section, and select any arbitrary time series. For example, you can select “2022”.
     • Click the blue “Apply Change” button.
       
     • Look for an option “Download Option” to save the list in your desired format (e.g., CSV, Excel).
       
5. Select two Country names from the list :
   • • You cannot select the United States, Rwanda, or Guatemala.
     • You will get a table like this, the first column is the Country name.
